I've made a decision

For most of the day yesterday, I was thinking about the sewing machine.  I did a pro/con list (like Lorelai Gilmore would do).  There was a clear winner in the pro/con list.  However, some of the pros for the old machine outweighed the pros for the new machine.  Overall, this comment from my sweet friend Juli last night, gave me the support that I needed.

"Sam's gift was bigger than the machine - he encouraged you to sew and gave you the ability and space to do it. Look at all that has happened because of it! You will always have that from the gift he gave. I say, if you want to get a new machine go ahead and get one. Or, if you want to give the one you have another try, go ahead. :)"

I think when I read the first phrase, I got a big knot in my throat and tears followed.  She was right (as Juli frequently is haha).  See here is the thing about Juli, she always has the right words to say, and because she knows me and knows my heart, she saw beyond new vs. old and got to the heart of why my decision was so difficult.

Last night, my wonderful mother spent her evening searching all around the internet to find me a machine.  I'm talking more than just looking at Joanns... I had links from everywhere to look at this morning.  In all my praying, meditating, and just rolling everything around in my head.  I knew ultimately, I wanted a deal.... more than a deal, I wanted a steal!  And I found one.

I am pleased to introduce the newest member to the blog (yes this will be a huge addition)

And go click on the link... because then you will see what a steal it was!

The wonderful thing is I realized that Sam's gift will live on (besides he loved the table more than the machine, the table it came in is amazing).  Sam's gift is being played out right here on this blog.  If it was not for his encouragement and pushing, this would not have even happened.  What was birthed that night that I collapsed in his backyard, wailing, pounding, and kicking the ground, is this point I am at right now.

Tomorrow afternoon, since there is hope on the horizon, I am going to post as many sewing projects I have lined up as possible.  I have about 4 or 5 that I cannot wait to share with all of you.

Thank you to everyone who read this, and who commented and just for the support.  It means so much to me!  I truly treasure you all!
