On Commemoration of Fall

I love how this first shot in this series looks so hopeful, the second a little silly and the third one is total hot-face.  I definitely was feeling the edgy librarian today.  However pictures of this dress don't really do it justice.  It has a beautiful movement to it that a digital picture simply cannot capture.  When you walk, the fabric flutters in the moving air.  I felt beautiful.

Have I talked about the basement of the building I work in at my temp job?  I think I have mentioned that my building is absolutely confusing.  How confusing?  Well, to continue down what should be a single hallway, you walk down the hallway until it dead ends, turn to your left go through a door, then take a right through another door, take a right go through another door, and then take another left through another set of doors.  The basement however is just creepy.  I was warned my first time going to the basement that there is a man that drives around and be careful he might hit you, but music is playing and that's how you know to look for him.  The one thing missing from that equation is that he has a knife and will stab you because he is the ghost of Cornelius Vanderbilt.

Dress: vintage, courtesy of Leproust Vintage
Necklace: gift from Africa
Belt: super old from Target
Shoes: MICHAEL Michael Kors from Beacon's Closet

Okay I can't leave this post talking about being stabbed by a ghost.  Even that creeps me out.  So here is a sad little plea.  Please check out my mark. store sometime this week... I need money... so I can eat and I really cannot part with any of my clothes.

And.... its THURSDAY!

Who ffant? Bouffant!

I look like a blonde Zooey Deschanel here don't I?  Because someone asked me, no I'm NOT wearing a bump it.  I did however tease my hair in order to get this look.  I am not really sure why I went the whole 60s girl route, but I really liked it.  I felt incredibly polished and even a little sexy, but still completely work appropriate.  I even went out to a show last night and didn't change a single thing about what I was wearing!

I also may have spent a little too much time on my eyeliner, causing me to have a hurried/forgetful day.  I am looking forward to Labor Day on Monday.  My dishes are piling up and I feel like if I don't have time to stop here in a few days, I may totally crash.

Navy shirt dress: Gap
Camel belt: Target
Jade bracelet: family gift
Plaid shoes: DSW

Notes on my overall look:
Hair: Teased the crown with a boar bristle brush, smoothed over and pinned to create lift, lots of hair spray, one day without washing
Makeup: Used my everyday foundation routine.  Used mark. On the Edge Liquid Eyeliner in Cleo to create think liquid eyeliner line on upper lid.  Smudged brown along lower lash lines, and topped upper lashes in black mascara.

Dealing...

*Disclaimer: Drugs are bad, don't do them.  But its fun to watch television shows about people that abuse them and that's okay if you have a strong stomach and have a strong will, okay that's all I have to say*

Look at this face... I mean really.  Who doesn't want to be Nancy Botwin?  You wouldn't believe the number of completely straight laced women in my life that have envied this woman (and you know who you are).  And the longer I go without a job, the more and more I wish I could be this woman.  The only thing is that I don't really want to be selling weed.  I never really envisioned myself as a pot dealer... maybe one day owning my own business but not an ethically questionable one.  But I thought as I am without a job for the time being that maybe I could get into my own little business venture...

No, sorry, I'm not going to be selling you drugs... maybe something better?  And just as addictive?  Beauty products?

It is with careful consideration that I present to you my mark. eboutique!  They have some of the greatest make up colors and shades, as well as, the creative hook-ups to help you swap out the products you need on your person at all times.  Go to my shop, take a look around and if you have any questions let me know.  For my friends here in Nashville, if you are interested in getting some samples or knowing more about some products, feel free to contact me personally and I'd love to arrange some time for us to get together.

Experimenting with make up is one of the ways that I have been able to keep my style feeling fresh while I have been taking a break from shopping.  With a flick of an eyeliner pen, I am able to go from girl next door to 60's mod in seconds and for a fraction of what it costs to go buy a clothing.

And you thought I was going to start selling pot weren't you?  Shame on you... and besides if I did, why would I blog about it?  I ain't no Barbie.
