Color Blocking

Other possible titles for this blog post include:

Mustard and Grapes, not a snack

My hair did not work this morning

Ya know, just hangin' out on the roof of a parking garage

Ronald McDonald and the Purple thing had a baby on my clothes

I know color blocking is like all the rage.  I decided to give it a try, especially after picking up this fantastic purple skirt for a dollar.  Unfortunately, this skirt wrinkles like crazy and after sitting at my desk for a few hours, this is what happened.  I really love this skirt though!  The hour-glass silhouette when I look in the mirror makes me feel so confident.  When I walk, I actually wiggle.

Shirt: Target
Necklace: gift
Belt: Muse boutique
Skirt: thrift store
Shoes: Antonio Melani
Bag: Volcom

  1. Mustard and grapes are indeed not a snack. Love the second photo. Still ginger-tastic.

  2. Fun look!!
PS: most excited to meet another alyson spelled like that who's also a red head. SAME HERE! :)

  3. One of my favorite outfits ever!!!! soooo cute on you :)

  4. I smiled when I saw this, so fun! Great skirt and I admire you going for color blocking. It's great with the yellow shirt.

  5. ah! That skirt is so incredible! And I love your color blocking. so bright and exciting!

  6. Now THIS is how to color block. So many bloggers are trying the trend and missing. This looks great, wrinkles and all!

  7. Wow, I love that skirt. I ordered a vintage one similar to that but the fit isn't right. I love that one on you and I love the other colors you paired with it!

  8. This is the best color blocking I have laid my eyes on! I absolute love these colors together! And $1 for the skirt?! You are a girl after my own heart! :)

  9. i love love love this color combination. It is genius.

  10. purple and mustard are one of my favorite color combos. you look great! Xx

  11. Purple thing = Grimace. Love it!

  12. Oh my painful color envy! I LOVE this look! It makes me want to do something drastic, like throw paint all over everything (but, you know, in a good way). If this is what the baby of primary colored capitalist mascots look like, I have to rethink my position on

1: the procreation of inanimate, fictional objects/characters
2: the possibility of love between primary and non-primary colors
    3: capitalism
and 4: other stuff I forget bc I was thinking about #1, which is kind of gross but also awesome.

PS: In reference to #1, I guess sometimes RM and the purple guy are animate-ish, like in cartoons, so please amend for that. :)
