2011, Let's get these resolutions on!

a very happy new year from Sam and I
So... my new year's was great.  I drank some champagne, wore something sparkly, kissed my man at midnight, and overall had a pretty good time.  I have the day off, which I am so excited about!  But first, let's talk new year's resolutions.  What kind of goals does one make after not shopping for a whole year?  I'm not going to lie, once I lost my job, a lot of my goals I had set for myself flew out the window...  So I will carry those on into the new year. In no particular order, here are my new year's resolutions (crossing fingers that I can keep them).

Be nicer.  I am going to give this one a shot.  I have been reading Gunn's Golden Rules by Tim Gunn and he makes a lot of points in this book about how being nice to people is a good thing.  We all know I can be a little snarky, so this year I'm going to try being nice to people.  Unless, someone deserves a good talking to, then I will kindly and plainly say why I think they are mean, rude, etc.  I of course, still have standards.

Get organized.  Really, the last frontiers of organization go to my sewing nook and my dresser.  My sewing nook is a disaster.  I would like some shelving or bins to hide stuff while I haven't gotten around to it.

A six pack.  Yes this sounds silly but, I know I can do it.  This past year I have slowly been trying to get back into better shape.  This includes eating less pizza, doing more cardio.  Even if I just get a light six pack, I think I will be happy.

Go visit.  I definitely want to take more trips to visit friends and family this year.  I want to go back to New York.  I will need to make a trip to Portland.  Sam and I want to take a trip to Austin.  This probably means I should also start saving some money.

That's all.  They are a little ambiguous, yes but I'll make tiny little goals to help me achieve the overall bigger picture.  For now, I think I'm going to lay in bed for a little longer.

PS- My dress is vintage, and AWESOME!

  2. after all that, I am still stuck on "I have the day off." I can't believe you are leaving me hanging today. Lame. Good luck on all of your resolutions. I still plan to be snarky, so you can live vicariously though me. :)

ok, the being nice, I tried that it didn't work for me, but you can definitely make it work. Getting organized that is a big step for you but I think your up for the challenge. The rest will be easy and a no brainer, especially coming to austin cuz you already have a place to stay.
