As you may have known, I have been on the hunt for red lipstick. My first red lipstick was too light, my second was too berry... I finally was ready to just throw in the towel and march straight to the MAC cosmetics store in the Green Hills Mall and have them pick it out. However, with a new resolve I decided to give Sephora a try. Now, you may have heard me complain about going into Sephora. Usually the sales associates on the floor are too busy talking to one another to even look up and notice that someone needs help. I am also a huge stickler when it comes to customer service considering I used to be in retail. It was to my pleasant surprise this weekend when I went into Sephora that I got EXCELLENT service. As I was perusing the red lipsticks, one of the sales associates was helping me. The shade that I was most drawn to, was out, but she grabbed a darker shade of red and tried it out on me. The results were stunning!
I was absolutely surprised by the longevity and the vividness of the pigment for this lipstick. Sephora just released a revamp of their Lip Attitude Chic that has a hydrating formula, and this is called the Rouge Cream Lipstick. I only had to reapply once during the day (after I ate lunch). This lipstick didn't leave my lips feeling dry and flakey, but instead left them feeling hydrated and rich with color.
I am so glad I went with the Passion Red instead of the Valentine's Day. The color was that dark red that I have been looking for, but also not too pink. Also, for $12 this lipstick was a GREAT investment.

Amazing. Finding the perfect red lipstick took me years, and it still ended up being more of a gloss than a true lipstick. I remember telling the sales associate (after trying probably 5 shades) that I wanted something more orange red. Something a little trashier. Something like a "wh*re red." The next shade she picked was perfect for me, and I have never looked back. So glad that you have found yours. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteRed lipstick suits you well! It looks plain awful on me!
ReplyDeleteThe falafel is from the Greek food stand in the Farmers Market. I can't remember the name of the place, but it's great. Their hummus is even better, though! xo.
