Edgy Ethnic

I have noticed something in my closet.  I do not own a single "tight" thing.  For some reason I got it into my head that I needed to create some sort of hour glass shape with almost every outfit.  No I'm not naturally hourglass shaped, I'm rectangular? upside down pear-ish?  high-waisted? do I even have a waist?  Why am I asking so many questions about my body shape?  First off let me just say, I love my body.  Yes there are days when there is bloat and irritation with my thick calves but I know how to dress that and down play it.  I also freakin love my thick calves because when I wear heels... they look REAL good.

After feeling like I wore a shirt tucked into a skirt (or shorts) almost every day last week, I tried to stop it.  This is one of the best twirling skirts though.  It has a built in slip so when I am twirling, nothing inappropriate shows.

I had a FANTASTIC weekend, and wouldn't you know... I took pictures of it.  I am going to try and do a better job of documenting my life.  I just have to make sure its cool with people that I post pictures of them up on my blog for all the world to see (or for ya know... y'all to see).

  2. this outfit is adorable. I love the mix of patterns. I am very much the opposite, i find i have TOO MANY tight things. I've always worn fitted clothes, so this heat is making life difficult because i'm trying to dig out things in my closet that don't touch my skin quite so much!

I don't know how I missed this post, but I have to comment. I just bought a new printed skirt with similar coloring to this one from Urban Outfitters. Just the other day I thought about pairing it with a striped shirt like yours but lost the guts to do it and stuck with solid. I love the look of this particular outfit and just want you to know that you've inspired me to try that striped shirt the next time I wear the skirt! :)
